The Outer Circles is an instrumental, improvisational group based in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The Outer Circles members include Donald Walker Jr. on tenor and soprano saxophone, Bob Luke Luedtke on piano, Paul Nunn on electric bass and Roy Terrell on drums. The Outer Circles is a musical group with a unique sonic personality that writes and performs jazz, funk and Latin inspired original compositions. Their music is written to enlighten the spirit and nourish the soul, and is rooted in the diversity of the American musical traditions. Their music has lyrical improvisations inspired by rhythmic flares. This is an electroacoustic musical ensemble that looks to the future, while honoring the traditions of the past. In their CD, entitled OMNIA, the Outer Circles recorded arrangements of songs by master songwriters Lennon & McCarthy, Horace Silver and Miguel Zenon. They also recorded a series of original compositions. The first track of the CD, entitled AFRO POPPA, was written in appreciation of the creativity of the Nigerian drummer Tony Allen. Track 2 is entitled PHILLY PHUNK and is written to honor the talented musicians from the City of Brotherly Love. Track 3 is entitled RICHES OF LIFE in appreciation of the musicians of Jamaica ,who provided the world with a vibrant art form. INDIGO BASICO expresses the Outer Circle s appreciation to the creativity of the Latin jazz Community. Tracks 5 and 6 are covers of the Beatle s classic tunes FOOL ON THE HILL and ELEANOR RIGBY, respectively. Track eight is QUE SERA DE PUERTO RICO, a joyous tune written by Miguel Zenon. Track 9 contains an Outer Circles original entitled INTERGALACTIC FUNK. There is also two short waltzes that honor the sacrifice of the students and educators at Sandy Hook. Track 11 is a cover of the American jazz composer Horace W.M.T Silver, which honors the Afro-Cuban tradition. The final track, Track 12, is an original composition entitled ANGEL BABY that was written for the children of the Outer Circles members.
